Pakistan Offers to Host Second Round of US-Iran Talks as Diplomatic Efforts Intensify

Islamabad: Pakistan has once again stepped forward in support of global peace by offering to host the second round of negotiations between the United States and Iran, aiming to bring both sides back to the negotiating table before the current ceasefire period expires.
According to a report by the Associated Press, Pakistani officials have proposed that Islamabad host renewed talks between the two sides, following the first round of discussions held earlier.
The report said that although the initial talks did not result in a final agreement, backchannel diplomacy continues, and experts believe the next round could lead to more concrete progress.
Sources cited by the agency said that countries including Turkey and Egypt are also playing a mediating role alongside Pakistan in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran.
It was further reported that during the earlier talks held in Islamabad, several key issues came close to resolution, and a joint framework was reportedly nearing announcement before the American delegation abruptly decided to withdraw.
Diplomatic observers suggest that neither the United States nor Iran wants a return to open conflict, and both sides are increasingly interested in ending what has been described as a “bloody chapter” in their relations.
Reports by Reuters and the Associated Press indicate that communication between Washington and Tehran is ongoing, with Pakistan acting as an important diplomatic bridge.
A US official, referencing remarks by President Donald Trump, said that Iran had made contact and expressed willingness to reach a deal. The official added that continuous engagement is underway and discussions are moving in a positive direction toward an agreement.
The next round of talks is tentatively expected on Thursday, with Islamabad once again emerging as the leading venue, although Geneva is also being considered as an alternative location.
Diplomatic sources said both parties are now exploring the possibility of face-to-face negotiations in an effort to bring an end to the six-week-long conflict.
Global attention is once again focused on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, as the world watches to see whether Islamabad can help prevent further escalation and steer the region toward lasting peace.
