Three Arrested in Pakistan for Spying for Indian Agency

KARACHI: Pakistan’s security agencies have arrested three individuals for allegedly spying on behalf of India’s intelligence agency, officials said.
According to sources, the suspects belong to Narowal, Bahawalpur, and Neelum district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The arrests were part of ongoing efforts by security institutions to counter internal and external threats.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to engaging in espionage activities for India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing. They revealed that they were lured through social media platforms using honey-trap tactics involving women and financial incentives to gain access to sensitive information.
Sources further stated that payments were made to the suspects through EasyPaisa, cryptocurrency wallets, and bank accounts. The accused also admitted to maintaining regular contact with individuals linked to the agency via social media.
Authorities have registered cases against the suspects under the Official Secrets Act. Following completion of legal proceedings, sentences have been awarded, according to sources.
Security analysts have warned that India is allegedly targeting civilians through financial inducements and honey-trap schemes to achieve its objectives. They urged the public to remain vigilant while using social media and to be aware of such tactics employed by hostile intelligence networks.
