Protests Erupt in Loralai, Sibi and Harnai Against Fuel Price Hike, Inflation and Insecurity

Loralai / Sibi / Harnai: Widespread protests and rallies were held in Loralai, Sibi, and Harnai under the banner of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party against a sharp increase in petroleum product prices, rising inflation, unemployment, and deteriorating law and order situation.
In Loralai, a large protest gathering was held under the chairmanship of Central Secretary Chairman Allah Noor Kakar. Speakers strongly condemned the continuous increase in prices of petrol, diesel, and gas, terming it equivalent to breaking the financial backbone of the public. They demanded an immediate reduction in fuel prices.
In Sibi, a rally led by Provincial Deputy Secretary Ahmed Khan Luni protested not only against fuel price hikes but also against worsening security conditions, prolonged load shedding, and the closure of the Kachhi Tal Khajjak road. Protesters raised slogans against government policies, saying the economic burden is being shifted entirely onto poor and working-class citizens.
Similarly, in Harnai, a protest march led by district leader Haji Dauran was joined by Awami National Party representatives. Demonstrators expressed strong concern over the poor condition and closure of the Harnai–Quetta and Sanjavi roads, demanding their immediate repair along with restoration of peace in the region.
In a joint statement from its central secretariat, the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party condemned the government’s economic policies, alleging that heavy taxation on petroleum, electricity, and gas is benefiting the elite while pushing ordinary citizens into financial distress. The party warned that if additional taxes on petroleum products are not withdrawn immediately, it will expand its protest movement further.
