Families of Missing Youth Continue Protest Outside Karachi Press Club on 22nd Day

KARACHI:The protest camp set up by families of forcibly disappeared youth outside the Karachi Press Club has entered its 22nd day. Demonstrators allege their loved ones were abducted from their homes and remain missing to date.
The families demanded that the government and state institutions immediately recover the missing youth and present them in courts, so that if there are any charges against them, they may face due legal process.
Speaking to the media, Hameed Baloch, father of missing Zahid Baloch, said the enforced disappearance of his son has left the entire family in severe mental distress. “If my son is accused of any crime, he should be presented before a court so he can defend himself. Ignoring the courts and abducting youth is an open violation of the Constitution and the law,” he said.
Similarly, Bibi Gulshan Baloch, mother of missing Sarfaraz Baloch, said her son was the sole breadwinner of the family, and his disappearance has pushed them into an economic crisis. She described him as innocent and hardworking, stating that he was taken from their home without any charges. “We want justice. Return our sons to us,” she demanded.
Meanwhile, an elderly woman from Singhore Para in Mauripur, identified as Amma Sabzi Baloch, expressed her grief in a press statement, claiming her two sons, Shiraz and Silan, were picked up on May 23, 2025, during a raid allegedly conducted by personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Since then, their whereabouts remain unknown.
She added that both her sons are innocent, and their disappearance has placed the family in extreme hardship. Shiraz, the elder son, is married, and his wife is expecting, but the family has been left without any source of income.
