NEPRA Raises Electricity Prices by Rs1.42 Per Unit Across Pakistan

Karachi — Electricity consumers across Pakistan, including Karachi, are set to face another increase in power tariffs as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has approved a hike under the monthly fuel price adjustment.
According to an official notification, electricity has been made costlier by Rs1.42 per unit for February 2026. The increase will apply nationwide, including consumers of K-Electric.
However, lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations have been exempted from this price hike.
The additional charges will be reflected in electricity bills for April 2026, adding further financial pressure on consumers already dealing with rising costs.
NEPRA had reserved its decision after completing a hearing on the February fuel adjustment, which has now been finalized and notified.
It is worth noting that electricity prices were also increased in January under a similar adjustment by Rs1.63 per unit, making the latest hike another burden on inflation-hit consumers.
