CM Sarfaraz Bugti Highlights Governance Reforms, Warns Against Anti-State Propaganda

Quetta — Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfaraz Bugti, on Thursday said that serious steps are being taken to promote good governance in the province, while urging youth to remain vigilant against anti-state narratives.
Addressing participants of the 19th National Workshop Balochistan, Bugti stated that reforms in the education sector have been implemented on merit, adding that teachers’ recruitment was carried out with complete transparency. He further revealed that around 3,200 previously closed schools have been made functional.
The chief minister expressed concern over the role of social media, claiming that anti-Pakistan elements operating from abroad are attempting to mislead young people. He warned that unverified historical narratives about Balochistan are being used to shape negative perceptions among the youth.
Bugti urged young people to rely on authentic historical sources and differentiate between fact and misinformation. “Youth are the hope of Pakistan and must defend the state on every front, including social media,” he said.
He emphasized that violent actions and extremist attitudes have no connection with development, adding that the state stands with the oppressed and no ideology can be imposed through the use of force.

Referring to constitutional principles, Bugti said that Article 5 of Pakistan’s Constitution calls for unconditional loyalty to the state. He reiterated that Pakistan is a victim in the fight against terrorism and affirmed his continued support for the state.
The chief minister also noted improvements in law and order, stating that unlike the past, highways in Balochistan are no longer blocked for indefinite periods under the guise of protests. He added that while the Constitution guarantees the right to protest, it also protects the rights of ordinary citizens.
On the issue of missing persons, Bugti claimed that the matter had been used as a propaganda tool against the state in the past. He asserted that through effective legislation, the issue has now been addressed and resolved permanently, adding that no concessions would be given to separatist elements.
