Temperature Likely to Rise in Karachi from Friday, Says Met Department

Karachi: A rise in temperature is expected in Karachi from Friday, with relatively warmer days likely to be recorded.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the city may exceed 35°C, and is expected to further rise to around 36°C by mid-March.
Deputy Director and spokesperson Anjum Nazir Zaigham stated that temperatures are likely to increase by 2 to 3 degrees compared to previous days. However, he clarified that there is no possibility of a heatwave at this stage.
He explained that a heatwave in Karachi typically requires temperatures to reach around 40°C, humidity levels to exceed 60 percent, and a prolonged suspension of sea breezes—conditions that are currently not present.
The Meteorological Department noted that such weather patterns are a normal part of seasonal changes toward the end of March and early April.
It is worth mentioning that the city experienced relatively mild weather in recent days due to western weather systems, but a gradual increase in temperature is now expected.
