Maulana Fazlur Rehman Says Public Frustrated with “Fake” Government and State Institutions

Peshawar: Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stated that the public is deeply frustrated with the current “fake” government and state institutions.

Speaking at a press conference, he criticized the government’s recent increase in petroleum prices, saying it has shaken the people and taken away the peace of the common citizen. He added that the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) central council reviewed both national and international developments during its latest session.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced that JUI-F will hold protests against government decisions next Friday, with the movement starting from Mardan on April 12.

He further criticized the government for introducing domestic violence and other laws contrary to Sharia, describing the administration as reliant on the support of the Pakistan Peoples Party. On international matters, he noted that border closures and trade disruptions, along with rising fuel prices, are burdening the public.

He also expressed concern over deteriorating law and order, conflicting provincial policies on operations, and the non-implementation of Islamic Ideology Council recommendations in parliament. He concluded by emphasizing that the public is frustrated with the government and state institutions, and called the current government “short-lived.”
