Ishaq Dar Holds Calls with Japanese, Portuguese Counterparts on Regional Situation

Islamabad: Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Japan and Portugal to discuss the evolving regional situation.
During his call with Toshimitsu Motegi, both sides exchanged views on the Middle East and broader regional developments. They expressed concern over rising tensions and emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation. Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability, stating that Islamabad would continue to support all efforts aimed at reducing tensions and achieving lasting peace.
The Japanese foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and diplomacy in the region and expressed support for continued dialogue. Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination in the future.
In a separate call, Ishaq Dar spoke with Paulo Rangel, where they discussed the changing regional dynamics. Dar highlighted the importance of immediate de-escalation and underscored Pakistan’s efforts toward sustainable peace and stability.
The Portuguese foreign minister praised Pakistan’s positive role in promoting peace, dialogue, and diplomacy, and expressed full support for its efforts. Both leaders also expressed satisfaction over the progress in Pakistan–Portugal bilateral relations and agreed to further strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest while maintaining high-level engagements.
