Senior Iranian Official Confirms Receipt of Pakistan’s Immediate Ceasefire Proposal

Islamabad: A senior Iranian official has confirmed that Pakistan’s proposal for an immediate ceasefire has been received and is under careful consideration.

According to Reuters, the official stated that Tehran doubts Washington’s seriousness regarding a permanent ceasefire and will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a temporary halt in hostilities. The official emphasized that Iran is not willing to accept any deadlines or make hasty decisions under pressure.

Pakistan Avoids Comment on Ceasefire Framework
Pakistani authorities have refrained from commenting on any proposed framework to end the ongoing US-Israeli conflict involving Iran. Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hassan Andrani told Al Jazeera that while multiple reports have emerged about a 45-day ceasefire proposal and a 15-point exchange, Pakistan does not comment on individual or specific matters, maintaining that its position is to continue supporting the peace process.

Pakistan, along with Egypt and Turkey, has been actively working to promote regional peace. Recently, foreign ministers from Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia attended a meeting in Islamabad chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Following the meeting, Dar visited China and has been in continuous contact with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US officials.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, stating that Tehran values Islamabad’s initiatives toward achieving a ceasefire.
