Doctors’ Bodies Reject Action Against Dr Noorullah, Announce Protest Plan in Quetta

QUETTA: The Pakistan Medical Association (Quetta Zone) and the Young Doctors Association (Balochistan Supreme Council) have jointly rejected the health department’s controversial decision against Dr Noorullah Musa Khel, terming it biased and based on personal motives.

The decision was made during a joint meeting held at Civil Hospital Quetta on Saturday, where key issues facing the health sector were discussed.

Participants strongly criticized the move against Dr Noorullah, alleging that it reflected the personal ego and partiality of the provincial health secretary. The meeting also declared that the continued presence of the current health secretary would no longer be tolerated.

The forum announced that a joint press conference will be held on April 6 to present all facts before the public. During the briefing, doctors’ representatives are expected to unveil their future course of action, including a protest movement and other possible measures.

The participants also expressed serious concerns over the lack of a transparent recruitment system in the province, condemning what they described as favoritism-based appointments.

They reaffirmed their commitment to exposing mismanagement in the health sector and vowed to continue their struggle for the protection of doctors’ rights, restoration of merit, and establishment of an effective healthcare system in Balochistan.
