Drug Rehabilitation Center Inaugurated in Kuchlak; Call for Collective Action Against Narcotics

Quetta/Kuchlak (Qudrat Daily) – Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai has termed drug addiction a “dangerous and destructive menace” that is hollowing out society and pushing the younger generation toward darkness.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held for the افتتاح (inauguration) of the Right Way Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Kuchlak, established under the supervision of the Balochistan government in collaboration with the فضل محمد فاؤنڈیشن.
The minister said that drug abuse not only destroys an individual’s life but also affects families, society, and future generations, making it a major national challenge. He praised Mir Sarfraz Bugti for taking strong initiatives to rehabilitate drug addicts and reintegrate them into society with dignity.
Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai emphasized that luring children and youth into drug use and illegal activities is a serious crime that must be dealt with strictly. He called upon parents, teachers, religious scholars, and community leaders to play their role in combating this issue.
While appreciating the establishment of the rehabilitation center, he remarked that education remains the fundamental pillar in preventing such social evils, adding that greater focus should also be placed on educational institutions.
He noted that the government is committed to providing treatment, a safe environment, and opportunities for addicts to rebuild their lives and become productive members of society again. “Rehabilitating one addict is equivalent to restoring an entire family,” he added.
The minister also warned that drug abuse is becoming more dangerous than terrorism, as it silently destroys the youth. He urged the public to identify and report drug dealers so they can be brought to justice.
Officials from the فضل محمد فاؤنڈیشن highlighted that the organization, with government support, is working to rehabilitate affected individuals, including vulnerable children, and provide them with education and a better future. Patients from across Balochistan, other provinces, and even neighboring regions are being treated at such centers, reflecting the scale of the problem.
The speakers reiterated their commitment to making Quetta and the entire province drug-free by utilizing all available resources and strengthening cooperation between government and non-governmental organizations.
