Trump Announces U.S. Military Operations in Iran to Conclude Within 2–3 Weeks

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that ongoing U.S. military operations in Iran will end “very soon,” with a nationwide address scheduled for Wednesday night at 9 PM.
Speaking to the media at the White House, Trump said that the air campaign and destruction of ground targets in Iran could take another two to three weeks to complete, after which U.S. forces will withdraw. When asked about rising global oil prices, he said confidently, “My job is only to leave Iran; once we withdraw, oil prices will automatically drop.”
Trump emphasized that the end of U.S. operations does not depend on a formal agreement with Iran. He warned that Washington would leave Iran only after ensuring the country is no longer capable of developing nuclear weapons, regardless of any deal. “They don’t need any agreement with me. Once we are confident they are incapacitated for the long term, we will leave, whether there is a deal or not. It’s irrelevant,” he stated.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Lewot confirmed on social media platform X that Trump will brief the nation on the Iran conflict on Wednesday night.
The war, which began on February 28 following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, has entered its fifth week. The killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei early in the conflict escalated tensions further, prompting retaliatory strikes by Iran on Gulf countries and Israel, as well as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which disrupted global oil trade and drove prices to record highs.
