Top Diplomats from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt to Visit Pakistan for Talks on Regional Tensions

Islamabad: Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt are set to arrive in Pakistan on a two-day official visit starting Sunday to discuss regional tensions, particularly the ongoing crisis involving Iran.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the visit is being held at the special invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The visiting dignitaries include Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Hakan Fidan, and Badr Abdelatty.
During their stay in Islamabad, the foreign ministers are scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and hold detailed consultations aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region.
Speaking to a private television channel, Ishaq Dar said the meeting was initially planned in Türkiye but was later shifted to Islamabad due to scheduling constraints. He added that Pakistan is actively engaged in dialogue with Iran and is making sincere efforts to help resolve the ongoing conflict, though details remain confidential due to the sensitive nature of the negotiations.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also confirmed the change in venue, stating it was necessary due to his Pakistani counterpart’s commitments at home.
The visit comes as tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran approach the one-month mark. Pakistan and several Middle Eastern nations have stepped up diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
In a recent address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role for peace in the Muslim world. He noted that he has been in contact with Iranian and Gulf leaders, while Ishaq Dar and Asim Munir are also playing key roles in the ongoing diplomatic outreach.
