India Approves $25 Billion Defense Procurement Plans Including S-400 Systems and Aircraft

New Delhi: India has approved major defense procurement projects worth approximately $25 billion, significantly boosting its military capabilities.
According to reports, the country’s Defence Acquisition Council cleared proposals that include the purchase of medium transport aircraft, Russian-made S-400 missile system, and armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The approved plans also cover a wide range of military equipment for the armed forces, including air defense tracked systems, armor-piercing tank ammunition, high-capacity radio relay systems, Dhanush artillery gun systems, and runway-independent aerial surveillance systems.
For the Indian Air Force, key approvals include long-range surface-to-air missile systems like the S-400, procurement of transport aircraft, acquisition of combat drones, and overhaul of engines for Sukhoi Su-30 jets.
Additionally, the Indian Coast Guard will receive heavy-duty air cushion vehicles as part of the modernization effort.
The move reflects India’s continued push to strengthen its defense infrastructure amid evolving regional security challenges.
