Aramco Slashes High-Octane Petrol Price by Rs200 per Liter in Pakistan

Islamabad: Saudi energy giant Saudi Aramco has announced a major price cut for high-octane petrol at its retail outlets in Pakistan, offering significant relief to consumers.

According to the company, the price of high-octane fuel has been reduced from Rs610 per liter to Rs410 per liter, marking a sharp decrease of Rs200 per liter. The move has been widely welcomed by the public amid rising fuel costs.

The development comes shortly after the Government of Pakistan decided not to increase general petroleum prices but significantly raised the levy on high-octane petrol from Rs100 to Rs300 per liter. Following that decision, prices at various fuel stations had surged to between Rs600 and Rs610 per liter, while outlets of Pakistan State Oil were selling it at around Rs589 per liter.

High-octane petrol is primarily used in modern vehicles equipped with turbocharged and high-compression engines. With the increasing number of such vehicles in Pakistan, demand for premium fuel has been on the rise.

Market analysts believe the price reduction will not only ease financial pressure on consumers but also boost the usage of high-octane fuel across the country
