Trump Claims ‘Regime Change’ in Iran, Says Tehran Agrees Not to Build Nuclear Weapons

Washington: Former US President Donald Trump made startling claims about Iran, asserting that the country’s old leadership has been replaced and that Tehran is now willing to provide guarantees that it will never develop nuclear weapons.

Speaking at the White House, Trump stated that Iran is “talking sensibly” and that negotiations are now being held with the “right people” who are genuinely interested in reaching an agreement.

Trump further claimed that the US has neutralized Iran’s navy and air force, describing these actions as part of a “regime change.” He also revealed that Iran sent the US a “valuable gift” related to oil, gas, and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, received just the previous day.

The former president noted that a new leadership is in place in Iran, emphasizing that while its performance remains to be seen, it is moving toward agreement.

Trump said that key members of his team, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, are actively engaged in the critical negotiations with Iran.

He also praised the role of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar in facilitating dialogue, describing their cooperation as “excellent.”

Trump’s statements have sparked global diplomatic discussions and are being seen as a potential turning point in Middle East politics.
