10 Countries Condemn Israeli Attack on Gaza Aid Flotilla

Pakistan and nine other countries have strongly condemned Israel’s reported attacks on the “Global Sumud Flotilla,” a humanitarian mission carrying aid to Gaza.

The joint statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives, and Spain. The countries described the flotilla as a peaceful civilian and humanitarian initiative aimed at drawing international attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians in Gaza.

The statement condemned what it called repeated attacks on civilian vessels and human rights activists. It said the targeting of aid boats and the detention of activists constitute a clear violation of international law and freedom of navigation.

The ten countries demanded the immediate release of all detained activists and called on Israel to ensure full respect for their rights and dignity.

The joint declaration further stated that attacks on peaceful humanitarian missions violate international law and urged the global community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities.

The countries also called for concrete measures to ensure accountability for Israeli violations and to end what they described as Israel’s impunity.
