Pashtunkhwa MAP Leader Warns of Deepening Crises, Criticizes Government Policies

QUETTA: Senior leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, has warned that alleged conspiracies against Pashtuns are being exposed, cautioning that the country’s crises will worsen if the current government continues in power.
He expressed these views while addressing a party joining event held in Quetta’s Nawan Killi Khilji Abad area, where around 45 individuals announced their decision to join the party. Several party leaders, including Habibullah Nasir Advocate and local office-bearers, also spoke on the occasion.
Ziaratwal linked regional instability to ongoing tensions in the Middle East involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, as well as clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He expressed concern over rising violence and called on global powers and the United Nations to play their role in preventing further escalation, warning that failure to act could risk a broader global conflict.
Criticizing domestic political conditions, he alleged that the 2024 general elections lacked transparency and led to the weakening of democratic institutions. He claimed that the constitution, judiciary, media freedom, and provincial autonomy had been undermined, while governance had deteriorated.
He further highlighted economic challenges, including inflation, unemployment, declining production in agriculture and industry, and increasing trade deficits. He said public services such as education and healthcare were in a state of decline, with millions of children out of school.
Ziaratwal urged political parties and democratic forces to unite against what he described as ineffective governance, emphasizing the need to restore stability and protect public rights.
He also announced that the party would hold a public gathering in Pishin on the fourth day of Eid-ul-Fitr to discuss national, regional, and international issues, including ongoing conflicts and their implications.
