Balochistan Security Forces Arrest Female Suicide Bomber, Foil Major Terror Plot

Quetta: In a major security operation, Balochistan authorities have apprehended a female suicide bomber affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), preventing a potential large-scale attack, officials said.
At a press conference, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Langau praised the performance of security forces and described the operation as a significant step for maintaining peace in the province.
The 19-year-old suspect, identified as being from Zahri Tehsil in Khuzdar District, had joined the BLA in July 2025. Investigations revealed that she was in contact with BLA commander Saleem Jan alias Dil Jan and facilitated activities for former TTP commander Ibrahim alias Qazi. She had also been connected with Dr. Sabiha Baloch for further training.
During the operation, authorities uncovered operational links between the BLA and BYC, as well as the truth behind missing-person narratives propagated by BYC. The female suspect admitted that she had been prepared for a suicide mission and was tasked with recruiting and training other women for attacks. She urged women not to participate in extremist activities.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti highlighted that the operation was conducted based on intelligence, preventing loss of innocent lives and exposing anti-state elements. He commended the security forces for their dedication and reiterated that law enforcement remains active to provide a safe environment for the public.
The CM emphasized the importance of protecting women and children from exploitation by extremist groups and said government initiatives are underway to expand education, employment, and community programs to shield youth from radicalization. He also stressed the need to safeguard societal values, prevent misuse of the internet for extremist propaganda, and engage the public in promoting peace and development across Balochistan and the country.
Authorities confirmed that sensitive cases involving women will be handled by the police’s female units to ensure protection and rights. Security forces continue to work closely with the community to maintain law and order and prevent terrorism.
