PIA Diverts UAE Flights to Alternate Airports Amid Regional Disruptions

**Karachi:** Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a change in its flight operations to the United Arab Emirates, rerouting services to alternative airports due to ongoing regional instability.

According to a spokesperson for the national carrier, flights originally destined for Dubai are now being operated via Fujairah Airport, while services for Abu Dhabi have been shifted to Al Ain Airport.

The changes come as flight schedules across the region have been severely disrupted due to tensions in the Middle East. Aviation sources confirmed that 101 flights were canceled in a single day, affecting operations at eight major airports across Pakistan, including Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Canceled routes include flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Sharjah, Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, and Dubai. Over the past 18 days, approximately 2,000 flights have been canceled from major airports nationwide.

Authorities have advised passengers traveling with both domestic and international airlines to check their flight schedules before heading to the airport. Reports indicate that passengers in cities such as Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sialkot were forced to return home due to flight disruptions.

Additionally, airport officials confirmed that special flights to the United Arab Emirates have once again been suspended until further notice.
