PTI Lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat Claims 120 Members Were Forced Out of Party

Islamabad: Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has claimed that around 120 members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were forced to leave the party despite having committed no wrongdoing.

Speaking in an interview, Marwat said that many individuals who were removed from the party were not at fault but were allegedly compelled to separate from PTI. He also criticized the boycott of parliamentary committees, saying it does not serve any practical purpose.

According to him, nearly 120 to 130 individuals were pushed out of the party, even though they had not violated any rules. Marwat added that whenever leadership positions become vacant within the party, it creates opportunities for new individuals to emerge and take on leadership roles.

Responding to a question about PTI’s possible return to parliamentary standing committees, he said boycotting such forums is not a solution. He emphasized that politics requires participation in parliamentary platforms in order to effectively present the party’s stance.

Marwat further stated that if politicians remain inactive and stay at home, their voices will not reach the public, making continued political engagement essential.

He also described the decision by a medical board to allow family members to examine Imran Khan as a positive development. He added that if the board issues further recommendations regarding the PTI founder’s health, they would welcome those measures.

Marwat also remarked that internal dynamics involving the family of Imran Khan have influenced party decision-making, suggesting that PTI may find it difficult to move forward independently unless those issues are resolved.
