MQM-P Questions Staying in Government After Sindh Governor Change: Farooq Sattar

Islamabad: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan Farooq Sattar has said that his party has little justification to remain in the federal government following what he described as a unilateral decision to change the Governor of Sindh.

Speaking to media, Farooq Sattar stated that MQM-P is an allied party of Pakistan Muslim League-N and that the constitutional position of the Governor of Sindh has traditionally been held by MQM-P.

He said the party believes it is being deprived of its constitutional right, adding that such unilateral decisions undermine the spirit of coalition politics.

“After such a one-sided decision, there is no justification for our party to remain in the federal government,” Sattar said, suggesting that MQM-P should consider leaving the ruling coalition.

Meanwhile, the MQM-P spokesperson also expressed concern in a statement, saying the party learned about the change of the Sindh governor through media reports and was not taken into confidence by the federal government.

The spokesperson added that MQM-P will soon decide its future course of action regarding the issue.
