Over 15.6 Million Pilgrims Perform Umrah During First Two Ashras of Ramadan

Islamabad: More than 15.6 million pilgrims have performed Umrah during the first two Ashras of the holy month of Ramadan, according to newly released statistics from Saudi authorities.
The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques reported that a total of 15,605,086 pilgrims performed Umrah during the first 20 days of Ramadan.
Data released by the authority shows that the overall number of worshippers and visitors to the two holy mosques—Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi—reached 96.6 million during the same period.
According to the report, 57,595,401 people offered the five daily prayers and Taraweeh at Masjid al-Haram over the past 20 days. Meanwhile, 21,143,259 worshippers performed the five daily prayers at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina.
In addition, 17,115,928 visitors paid their respects at the blessed chamber of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, while 579,191 worshippers offered voluntary prayers in Riyad ul Jannah.
Saudi officials stated that the statistics were collected through advanced sensor systems installed at the entry gates of the two holy mosques, enabling accurate monitoring of pilgrims and worshippers during the busy Ramadan season.
