Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns Violence Against Doctors, Criticizes Government’s Delay in Talks

Quetta: The provincial secretariat of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has strongly condemned the alleged violence against doctors and accused the government of using delaying tactics in negotiations, saying the situation is worsening the difficulties faced by poor patients across the province.

In a press release issued in Quetta, the party expressed deep concern over what it described as unconstitutional and illegal actions against doctors. It said that although some detained doctors were released following the arrival of a government negotiation team, the talks were later stalled, further aggravating the situation in hospitals and increasing the suffering of underprivileged patients.

The statement said that junior doctors and paramedical staff have the legal right to protest for their legitimate demands. However, the government has only been forming committees repeatedly instead of seriously addressing the issues raised by the medical community.

The party further stated that the current ruling group appears unaware of the hardships faced by the poor and vulnerable people of the province who rely on public healthcare facilities for treatment.

The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party urged the government to honor its commitments and immediately accept the demands of the protesting doctors. It warned that continued delays could worsen the healthcare crisis and increase the suffering of patients.

The statement concluded that if the situation deteriorates further, the responsibility will rest entirely with the government for failing to resolve the matter in a timely and serious manner.
