Government Not in Possession of Even a Single Bag of Wheat; Fear of Wheat Crisis in Balochistan

Quetta – The fear of a wheat crisis is looming in Balochistan, with the Food Department stating that the government has approved the purchase of 500,000 bags of wheat.

There is not even a single bag of wheat present in the government’s official warehouses, and despite the approval, the Finance Department has not yet released the funds.

According to officials, once funds are available, the purchase of wheat from PASSCO will be finalized.

Officials said that one month will be required for the purchase of wheat and its transportation to local warehouses.
