India Rejects Claims of U.S. Using Its Ports in War Against Iran

Mumbai: The Indian government has rejected reports claiming that the United States Navy is using Indian ports for military operations against Iran.
According to the fact-check account of Ministry of External Affairs India, the claim is completely baseless and fabricated. The ministry stated that a report broadcast on a U.S. channel alleged that American naval forces were using Indian ports for actions against Iran, but clarified that the report was incorrect.
Officials said that unverified and misleading information is being circulated which could mislead the public, urging people to remain cautious about such claims.
The allegation was made by Douglas Macgregor, a former U.S. military officer and ex-adviser to the U.S. defense secretary, during an interview. He claimed that after attacks by Iran damaged some U.S. bases, Washington had to rely on India and its naval facilities.
Following his remarks, the issue sparked debate in India’s political circles. A spokesperson for the opposition Indian National Congress questioned whether the government of Narendra Modi was allowing the United States and Israel to use Indian naval bases in a conflict that could harm civilians.
The Indian government has strongly denied all such allegations, describing the reports as mere rumors.
