Political Leaders Given In-Camera Briefing at PM House on Regional Security Situation

Islamabad: Political parties and members of parliament were given an in-camera briefing at the Prime Minister’s House on the evolving regional security situation following border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

According to sources, the closed-door session began at the Prime Minister’s House to apprise parliamentary leaders and political representatives of the latest developments. However, no member of the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attended the briefing.

Sources said representatives from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan, and Balochistan Awami Party were present.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided a detailed briefing on the diplomatic situation, while security authorities updated participants on the Iran-Israel conflict and the security environment along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

It is noteworthy that PTI had decided a day earlier to boycott government meetings until a meeting is held with the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan.
