Shahid Bhatti Defends Himself Against Allegations of Harassing Shahzeb Khanzada

Lahore: A video has surfaced in which Shahid Bhatti, accused of harassing prominent anchor Shahzeb Khanzada abroad, has shared his side of the story for the first time, denying any harassment.

In an interview, Bhatti said he was in Canada at the time and intended to question Shahzeb Khanzada about why he conducted a program against Bushra Bibi despite clear Islamic guidelines. According to Bhatti, when Khanzada refused to answer, he simply said, “You should feel ashamed.”

He clarified that the video he recorded was unedited and that he neither used abusive language nor harassed anyone. “I was only asking questions, not harassing or cursing,” he emphasized. Bhatti also criticized Khanzada, saying the anchor should have refrained from hosting the program if he felt uncomfortable.

Responding to questions about his political affiliations, Bhatti stated that at 64 years old, he is not a member of PTI but merely a supporter, and he has not participated in any party rallies. He reiterated that his intention was only to have a dialogue, but Khanzada had no answers and left the scene.

Bhatti also commented on Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar, saying, “Let him do whatever he wants. I know who he is; he comes from a corrupt family and I have no concern for him. Like Hasina Wajid became a warning example, he will too; he will be dragged on the streets.”

Earlier, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar stated that the individual who harassed Shahzeb Khanzada had been identified as a Canada-based real estate agent from Gujranwala and a PTI supporter. He added that legal action would be taken to set an example.
