Nepra Raises Electricity Tariff by 35 Paisas Per Unit Under Quarterly Adjustment

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved an increase in electricity prices for consumers across Pakistan under its quarterly adjustment mechanism.

According to the decision, electricity has been made 35 paisas per unit more expensive as part of the quarterly tariff adjustment. The regulator has granted approval for the price hike for the period from October to December 2025.

The revised rates will be implemented for three months, from March to May 2026.

Nepra said the increase will place an additional financial burden of Rs8.674 billion on electricity consumers nationwide.

The quarterly adjustment is part of the regulatory framework that allows utilities to pass on variations in fuel costs and other expenses to consumers.
