Family Alleges Enforced Disappearance of 16-Year-Old in Quetta, Seeks Immediate Recovery

Quetta: A resident of Quetta, Alishba Samalani, has appealed to higher authorities for the safe recovery of her brother, alleging that he has been forcibly disappeared and remains unaccounted for 12 days after his detention.
She made these remarks during a press conference held at the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons on Court Road, alongside Chairman Nasrullah Baloch and activist Hooran Baloch.
Alishba stated that on the night of February 3, personnel of security forces and law enforcement agencies allegedly raided their residence in Asghar Abad, Sariab Customs area, without presenting a search warrant. After conducting a thorough search of the house, they took into custody her 16-year-old brother, Hasnain Ahmed, son of Babul Jan Samalani, who is a student, for questioning.
She said that despite repeated attempts to contact the administration, the family has not been provided with any information regarding his whereabouts. “Twelve days have passed, yet Hasnain has neither been produced before any court nor have we been informed about his well-being,” she said, adding that the uncertainty has caused severe mental distress to the family.
Alishba further stated that arresting innocent citizens without due process and allegedly subjecting them to enforced disappearance constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights. She urged the authorities to take immediate notice of the alleged disappearance and ensure her brother’s safe recovery to relieve the family’s ongoing anguish.
