Young Doctors in Balochistan Facing Severe Financial Crisis and Lack of Basic Facilities: YDA

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan has drawn the attention of the provincial government and the Health Department to what it described as an urgent and critical issue, stating that doctors across the province are facing severe financial difficulties and a lack of basic facilities.
According to the association, doctors serving in various parts of Balochistan are under significant financial stress due to stagnant salaries over the past several years, despite continuous inflation. They said this situation is negatively affecting not only doctors’ professional performance but also the overall healthcare system.
The YDA further stated that salaries and stipends for doctors in Balochistan are significantly lower compared to other provinces, which is creating a growing sense of deprivation among the medical community.
Another major issue highlighted by the association is the non-availability of proper residential facilities for doctors. A large number of doctors are reportedly without basic housing support, forcing them to live in difficult conditions that also impact their efficiency and work performance.
The Young Doctors Association demanded an immediate and substantial increase in doctors’ salaries, equalization of stipends for house officers and postgraduate trainees with other provinces, and the provision of safe and standard residential facilities for medical staff.
The association urged the government to prioritize these legitimate demands in the upcoming budget, warning that if the issues are not addressed, YDA Balochistan may be compelled to adopt a course of action under its constitutional and democratic rights.
