Punjab Launches First-Ever Video Evidence-Based Digital Traffic E-Challan App

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the “One App” digital traffic e-challan system, introducing the country’s first evidence-based traffic enforcement mechanism supported by video proof.
According to an official spokesperson, the new system ensures that traffic violations will be recorded through secure and verifiable video evidence, enhancing transparency in enforcement. The initiative marks the first time in Pakistan that traffic challans will be issued based on authenticated digital video documentation.
Authorities stated that traffic officers will be able to instantly verify identity cards, driving licenses, and stolen vehicle records on the spot. Additionally, vehicle ownership details, fitness certificates, and route permits can be checked immediately through the integrated system. Digital action will also be taken against encroachments and environmental violations.
The spokesperson added that citizens will receive details of traffic violations through QR codes, while digital evidence will ensure transparent and impartial enforcement.
DIG Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, stated that the implementation of the One App will promote transparent and non-discriminatory enforcement, improving road discipline and ensuring safer travel across the province.
