Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Says Country Rejects “Pehia Jam” Strike Call

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Roznama): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah stated that the entire country has rejected the call for the “Pehia Jam” (wheel-jam) strike.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the “My Karachi” exhibition at Expo Center, the Chief Minister toured various stalls before addressing the audience. He emphasized that the country cannot afford to halt daily activities and highlighted that public transport was operating normally across Pakistan, despite the strike call.
Murad Ali Shah said that while political protests are a democratic right, they must be conducted in a way that does not inconvenience citizens. He noted that even on Sunday, businesses remained open and Karachi residents were saddened by the Islamabad tragedy.
The Chief Minister also praised the participation of several friendly countries in the exhibition, which showcased their products, and mentioned surveys conducted on buildings in Karachi. He highlighted ongoing events such as the Literature Festival in Karachi and the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sindh, noting that such international events were previously unimaginable in the city.
Murad Ali Shah further recalled past challenges with infrastructure projects like K-4 and expressed the need for a cooperative and democratic approach to governance and constitutional amendments, urging political parties to focus on the future.
