Hidden Cameras in Honeymoon Hotel Rooms in China: Couple Forced to Hide in Public

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** In China, secretly filming couples’ private moments in hotel rooms and selling the footage online has become a serious issue. According to international reports, in 2023, a couple from Hong Kong, Eric and his friend Emily, experienced this disturbing violation during their stay at a hotel in Shenzhen.

The couple was unaware that their most intimate moments were being recorded by a hidden camera, and that the footage would be accessible online to thousands of viewers. Eric revealed that three weeks ago, while browsing a social media channel, he unexpectedly saw a video of their hotel stay on Telegram.

The video was shared on a platform where users could comment on and critique couples’ activities recorded by hidden cameras. As a result, the couple now wears hats in public to hide their faces and avoids staying in hotels whenever possible. Eric admitted that he no longer watches inappropriate content on these Telegram channels but occasionally checks to ensure their video hasn’t resurfaced.

Investigations reveal that the industry operates through agents like “AKA,” who provide subscribers with live hotel room footage for a monthly fee. These live streams come from hidden cameras connected to hotel electrical systems, and users can also access previous recordings. On these channels, thousands of users critique couples’ appearance, behavior, and sexual performance, with women often targeted with offensive remarks.

Such “spy cam porn” has existed in China for at least a decade, despite laws prohibiting the production and distribution of obscene videos. In recent years, the issue has gained significant attention on social media, prompting some individuals to take preventive measures, such as setting up tents inside hotel rooms.

BBC investigations indicate that agents like AKA work for high-level “camera owners” who install cameras and manage live streaming platforms, generating millions in revenue through Telegram channels, despite China’s strict laws on hidden cameras.
