Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan Appeals to Traders for Full Support of February 8 Strike

**Quetta:** A representative delegation of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan met with Rahim Kakar, President of the Central Association of Traders, Hazrat Ali Achakzai, and other cabinet members. The delegation included Kabir Afghan, Sardar Zainul Abedin Khalji, Wilayat Hussain, Haji Surat Khan Kakar, Amir Agha, and Muhammad Younis.
The delegation urged traders to fully participate in the wheel-jam and shutdown strike scheduled for February 8, 2026, to ensure its success. They highlighted that the deteriorating law and order situation in the country and province, closure of border trade, restrictions on commerce and employment, and raids by government forces on showrooms, warehouses, markets, and business centers have left traders, shopkeepers, laborers, and the general public struggling to make ends meet.
The delegation alleged that an ongoing conspiracy aims to destroy trade and economically oppress the public, which can only be addressed through the February 8, 2024, elections to remove the imposed, so-called government.
The Central Association of Traders expressed full support for the February 8 strike and instructed all traders, shopkeepers, and the public to close their shops, markets, and commercial centers to ensure the strike’s success.
Later, the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan delegation also met with Ayub Maryani, Agha Gul, and other cabinet members at the Chamber of Commerce to appeal for their cooperation in making the strike successful. The delegation warned that the ongoing economic and trade crises, rising inflation, and unemployment in the province are extremely alarming, and if timely measures are not taken, the situation could worsen further.
