Ban on Kite Flying Recommended in Several Areas of Lahore Near Airport

**Islamabad (Qudrat):** A recommendation has been made to impose a ban on kite flying in areas of Lahore located near Allama Iqbal International Airport, citing flight safety concerns. A letter sent by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Allama Iqbal International Airport to the district administration has come to light.
According to details, the ban has been recommended in at least 15 areas, including Bhatta Chowk, Nishat, Ali View Garden, Ali Park, Nadirabad, Joray Pul, Al-Faisal Town, Taj Bagh, and Canal Bank, among others.
The Pakistan Airports Authority stated that the recommendation was made to ensure the safe arrival and departure of aircraft. The letter also urged the district administration to enforce Section 144 and strictly prohibit the use of metallic and chemical kite strings, which pose serious risks to aviation safety.
The Airports Authority confirmed that the letter was dispatched on January 12. However, the final decision regarding the imposition of the ban will be taken by the district administration.
