PkNAP Holds Massive Rally in Karachi, Demands Recognition of Pashtun National Unity and Sovereignty Over Resources

Karachi: A large and historic public gathering organized by the Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP), Sindh–Karachi, was held at Empress Market, Saddar, where party Chairman Khushal Khan Kakar delivered a keynote address, calling for recognition of Pashtun national unity and sovereignty over their resources.

Congratulating party workers and office-bearers on the successful rally, Khushal Khan Kakar said that the conscious and courageous Pashtun people of Karachi demonstrated unity, discipline, and solidarity. He reiterated that PkNAP would not hesitate to make any sacrifice to achieve the national and collective aspirations of its people.

The rally was also addressed by Party Secretary General Khurshid Kakaji, Sindh Provincial President Syed Muhammad Sadiq Agha, South Pakhtunkhwa President Nasrullah Khan Zairay, Central Secretary Allah Noor Khan Chairman, Nizam Khan Kakar, PkSO Sindh Organizer Mehboob Khan Mandokhail, and Advocate Younas Khan Kakar. The duties of stage secretaries were performed by Shafi Tareen and Abdul Khaliq Khan, while resolutions were presented by Latif Khan and unanimously approved by participants. Muhammad Afghan recited verses from the Holy Quran.

During the event, dozens of individuals announced their joining of Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party. Khushal Khan Kakar also administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the Pakhtunkhwa Lawyers Forum. Renowned Pashto revolutionary poets Abdul Hakim Mashaal and Ajmal Khan energized the crowd by reciting revolutionary poetry.

Earlier, the party chairman and other central and provincial leaders were given a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon their arrival at the venue.

In his speech, Khushal Khan Kakar highlighted that millions of Pashtuns reside in Karachi and Sindh, describing Pashtuns as the only nation forced to live a life of migration in large numbers, despite Pakhtunkhwa being rich in valuable natural resources and minerals. He said that insecurity, terrorism, and instability in their homeland have compelled Pashtuns to live away from their native land.

He pointed out widespread unemployment, lack of education, minimal industrial development, and the deliberate destruction of the electricity system in Pakhtunkhwa. He further stated that Pashtuns in Karachi and other parts of the country face serious threats to life and property, alleging discriminatory and unjust behavior by police and administrative authorities.

The PkNAP chairman demanded that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ensure the provision of education, employment, CNICs, domicile certificates, and other basic civic documents to Pashtuns living in Sindh and Karachi. He said that in the so-called war on terror, millions of Pashtuns were martyred and countless homes destroyed.

Khushal Khan Kakar warned that Pakhtunkhwa is home to some of the world’s rarest and most valuable minerals, attracting the attention of local and international colonial forces. He alleged that while millions of acres of land have been allotted, doors of trade and development remain closed for Pashtun people.

Reaffirming the party’s commitment to peaceful political struggle, he said that the current situation in Pakhtunkhwa and the Pashtun-Baloch regions is a result of colonial-style governance by ruling elites, particularly the Punjab elite. He stressed that conditions would only improve when nations are empowered within their national units, demanding recognition of sovereignty and ownership rights of all nations.

He called for the formation of a new political and social contract based on equality of nations and genuine democracy, proposing that the federation should retain only four ministries, with all remaining powers devolved to national units.

Khushal Khan Kakar expressed full solidarity with the peaceful political struggle of Baloch, Sindhi, and other oppressed nations and urged all parties to refrain from imposing war-like conditions in Pakhtunkhwa, warning that the region is already suffering due to flawed policies and poor governance.

He also voiced serious concern over the continued detention of Pashtun nationalist leader Ali Wazir, appealing to the Sindh government and nationalist parties to support PkNAP’s struggle for his release.
