Balochistan and Pakistan Will Defeat Every Conspiracy to Destabilize the State, Says CM Sarfraz Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has vowed that every conspiracy aimed at destabilizing Balochistan and Pakistan will be defeated, declaring that the state will not retreat “even an inch” in the fight against terrorism.

Addressing the 20th Passing-Out Parade of the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) Training School in Quetta on Friday, the chief minister said the sacrifices of the country’s brave security personnel would never go in vain.

He alleged that a coordinated campaign is underway in which acts of terrorism are carried out to destabilize the state while blame is simultaneously placed on state institutions to spread unrest and misinformation. He added that young people are being pushed toward a futile conflict that has brought nothing but instability and deprivation.

“Those who dream of dividing the country are living in a fool’s paradise,” Bugti said, adding that every attempt to undermine the peace and stability of Balochistan and Pakistan would be thwarted.

The chief minister urged political parties not to politicize the issue of terrorism, stressing that the country currently needs national unity, solidarity, and institutional stability rather than political point-scoring.

He said the Balochistan Police, Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF), Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and Special Operations Wing (SOW) are playing a frontline role in combating terrorism, and the provincial government is working to further strengthen them as modern and effective strike forces.

Bugti announced that the forces would be provided with modern weapons, equipment, specialized training, and all necessary resources to effectively eliminate the menace of terrorism.

Paying tribute to the three female constables who joined the ATF, he said the daughters of Balochistan are standing shoulder to shoulder with their brothers in safeguarding peace, upholding the rule of law, and defending the homeland, setting an inspiring example for other young women.

He reiterated that the sacrifices of martyrs in the fight against terrorism are a national asset and that their sacred blood will never be forgotten.

The chief minister said terrorist elements seek to obstruct Balochistan’s journey toward development, education, and prosperity, but their designs will fail through the unity of the government, security forces, and the people.

Appealing to political parties, he urged them not to allow terrorism—a national issue—to become a casualty of political differences. He praised police officers and security personnel serving under harsh conditions as national heroes whose sacrifices should not be politicized.

Bugti stated that the state’s doors remain open for those willing to renounce violence and rejoin the national mainstream, adding that comprehensive plans are in place for their rehabilitation, education, employment, and social reintegration. However, he warned that no one would be allowed to impose their ideology through the barrel of a gun.

He reaffirmed that the government and law enforcement agencies would never surrender to terrorism, violence, or brutality and would continue their fight without compromise.

The chief minister also announced an increase in the salaries and benefits of ATF, CTD, and SOW personnel. He said the Government of Balochistan would further expand support for the families of martyrs and assume responsibility for the welfare and education of their children.

Additionally, Bugti announced a grant of Rs150 million for improving the infrastructure of the ATF Training School, an increase in trainers’ basic salaries, and a revision of feeding charges. He pledged that all available resources would be utilized to enhance the professional capabilities of the police force and equip them with modern facilities.

Congratulating the graduating personnel, he expressed confidence that they would perform their duties with honesty, professionalism, and courage in protecting the people, the province, and the national flag while playing an effective role in ensuring lasting peace through the fight against terrorism.
