Pakistani Cricket Fans Welcome Government’s Decision to Boycott India Match in T20 World Cup

Pakistani cricket fans have welcomed the government’s decision to boycott the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match against India, expressing strong support on social media.
On Sunday, Pakistan announced that it will participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup but will not play the match against India. The decision was made after a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, during which an important decision regarding Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup was finalized.
Following the meeting, the Government of Pakistan officially stated that Pakistan would compete in the T20 World Cup but would not face India in the group-stage match scheduled for 15 February.

Pakistani cricket fans took to social media platforms to praise and support the government’s move. One user wrote, *“No compromise on dignity and honor, Pakistan comes first.”*
Another user, Jalal Shirazi, stated, *“Pakistan has proven that dignity, security, and national interest are greater than any sport. Refusing to play against India reflects the decision of a self-respecting and responsible state.”*

A third user echoed similar sentiments, writing, *“We stand with the government’s decision.”*
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to begin on 7 February. Pakistan has been placed in a group alongside India, Namibia, the Netherlands, and the United States.
