JUI Balochistan Expresses Deep Concern Over Lawlessness, Claims Public Left at Mercy of Armed Groups

**Quetta:**
The provincial working committee and parliamentary members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan held a joint meeting under the chairmanship of Provincial Amir Senator Maulana Abdul Wasi. The meeting discussed the worsening law and order situation in Balochistan, employee grievances and protests, the creation of new districts and divisions, and other key issues, resulting in several important resolutions.
Speaking at the session, Senator Abdul Wasi and Provincial Secretary-General Agha Mehmood Shah expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation, describing the state’s writ in Balochistan as “zero” and alleging that the public has been left at the mercy of armed elements. They condemned the loss of lives of law enforcement personnel and innocent civilians, destruction of public and private property, and incidents of looting and burning of banks, fully endorsing the stance of JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman on these issues.
They warned that the rising unrest and instability in the province demand that federal and provincial authorities recognize ground realities, avoid obstructing democratic processes, and take effective and serious measures to restore order. They stressed the urgent need for timely intelligence and coordinated strategies but noted serious shortcomings that threaten public safety, suggesting that Balochistan is being deliberately pushed toward instability.
The leaders also criticized the government for neglecting the legitimate concerns of provincial employees while focusing on creating new divisions. They further alleged that law enforcement resources are being misused in raids on traders’ warehouses, causing widespread concern among the business community.
The JUI leaders urged the government to take immediate, practical, and effective steps to restore law and order, address employees’ grievances, and protect the business community to rebuild public trust in state institutions.
