KP CM Sohail Afridi Announces Protest at Factory Naka Over Denied Meeting with Imran Khan, Calls Health Secrecy “Medical Terrorism”

Rawalpindi: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced that he will hold a sit-in tonight at Factory Naka in Rawalpindi due to being denied a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. Afridi condemned the concealment of Khan’s health condition, calling it “medical terrorism,” and demanded that Khan’s family, legal team, and party members be allowed access immediately.
Speaking to media at Factory Naka, Afridi criticized the secrecy surrounding Khan’s hospitalization, stating that he was transferred from jail to a hospital on Saturday night without the knowledge of his family or party. He questioned why the PTI chairman’s personal physician was not informed and why the severity of his condition was hidden from the public. Afridi warned that the nation will not tolerate what he described as endangerment of Khan’s life.
“Every human has the basic right to consult their personal physician. Hiding the leader’s health amounts to medical terrorism,” Afridi said. He claimed that the PTI chairman had previously survived a “life-threatening attack” and stressed that proper protocols must be followed to prevent further risk.
Afridi also criticized the authorities for allegedly secretly moving Khan in and out of the hospital without informing the public or his family. He demanded immediate permission for Khan’s family and medical team to meet him, warning that if denied, the KP government will announce its next course of action tomorrow morning.
Following the denied meeting, Afridi held a gathering at a dhaba near Factory Naka with PTI leaders. Salman Akram Raja briefed media, stating that despite repeated requests and court orders, Khan had been kept away from his family and doctors. He added that Khan underwent medical procedures and vaccinations without the knowledge of his family, leaving the party deeply concerned.
Raja emphasized that Imran Khan is the leader of a nation that stands behind him, and separating him from family and physicians is unacceptable. He reiterated that the sit-in would continue overnight and called on parliamentarians nationwide to join and support their demands.
Afridi concluded that if access is not granted by tomorrow morning, PTI would announce its further strategy while maintaining a peaceful and lawful protest.
