Scientists Reveal How the Great Pyramid of Giza Was Built Using Hidden Platforms and Ancient River Routes

**Islamabad:** After centuries of mystery, scientists have uncovered possible methods behind the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, which was built over 4,500 years ago.

For decades, researchers have puzzled over how the ancient Egyptians managed to move and lift massive stones—some weighing up to 60 tons—into place with such speed and precision, completing the pyramid in just two decades. Traditional theories relying on ramps could not fully explain how these heavy blocks were transported to hundreds of feet in height.

Recent research, published in the journal *Nature Communications*, suggests that the pyramid may have been constructed using hidden internal platforms that functioned like pulley mechanisms. These concealed systems allowed workers to lift and position the heavy blocks at astonishing speed, with some stones being placed in as little as one minute. The interior ramps and sloped surfaces inside the pyramid supported the counterweight method, making it easier to raise the stones.

If confirmed, this discovery indicates that the pyramid was built from the inside out, rather than relying solely on external ramps, with secret platform systems elevating the stones.

Earlier, in May 2024, researchers discovered a previously unknown branch of the Nile buried beneath the desert, which once flowed around more than 30 pyramids, including the Great Pyramid. This ancient river branch likely enabled the transportation of heavy stones to construction sites. The river, now hidden beneath the desert and agricultural land, ran just one kilometer from the Great Pyramid.

The pyramid was built using approximately 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing between 2.5 and 15 tons. Scientists believe the river’s historical path also influenced why the pyramids were constructed at different locations, as its flow shifted over time.

This groundbreaking research sheds new light on the engineering genius of ancient Egypt and provides a plausible explanation for one of the world’s most enduring architectural mysteries.
