Police Violence and Arrests on Government Employees in Quetta: Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Condemns, Demands Immediate Release

**Quetta:** The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) strongly condemned police brutality, arrests, and excessive use of force against government employees protesting under the Grand Alliance in Quetta. In a press release from the party’s provincial secretariat, PNAP demanded the immediate release of all detained employees and called for the recognition of their legitimate demands without delay.

The press release stated that the protest by government employees continued with full intensity, but the government remained unyielding. Authorities imposed an unannounced curfew, sealed major city roads, and completely suspended internet services to suppress the demonstration. Heavy police deployments and government vehicles blocked movement on key roads including Liaquat Bazaar, Prince Road, and Masjid Road.

PNAP accused the government of displaying authoritarianism and anti-worker policies, saying that despite arrests, baton charges, and other obstacles, thousands of employees peacefully recorded their protest and raised slogans against police brutality. Hundreds of employees were reportedly detained, and hundreds more were suspended.

The press release further emphasized that the employees did not retreat from their legitimate demands, and PNAP reaffirmed its support for the constitutional, legal, and democratic rights of government employees. The party stated that the employees have vowed to continue their protest until their rights are fully secured, resisting any pressure, violence, or intimidation.
