Quetta Food Authority Fines 18 Hotels and Fast-Food Outlets for Selling Unsafe Food

**Quetta:** The **Balochistan Food Authority (BFA)** has taken strict action against hotels, fast-food corners, and pizza outlets in Quetta as part of a special inspection campaign to ensure the public receives safe and quality food.
During the campaign, **71 food outlets** across various parts of the city were thoroughly inspected, resulting in fines for **18 hotels, one pizza point, and two fast-food centers** due to serious violations of food safety laws. An additional **22 outlets** faced action for breaching regulations.
The inspections revealed **poor hygiene, repeated use of stale cooking oil, harmful artificial colors, prohibited Chinese salt, and substandard ingredients**. Authorities also noted **improper food storage, inadequate pest control measures, and general violations of sanitation standards**.
Several fined outlets were found **operating without valid food business licenses**, and some centers were repeatedly using unsafe cooking oil and Chinese salt. Meanwhile, **21 outlets with minor issues** were issued corrective notices to address deficiencies within a specified period.
Inspection teams conducted checks in areas including **Kachlak Bypass, Prince Road, Hazara Town, Hazarganji, Satellite Town, Pashtunabad, and Airport Road**.
The campaign highlights the BFA’s commitment to **enforcing food safety standards and protecting public health** across Quetta.
