Pakistani Passport-Holding Cricketers Face Indian Visa Issues Ahead of T20 World Cup

Lahore: Serious concerns have emerged over Indian visa difficulties faced by Pakistani passport-holding cricketers representing international teams in the ICC T20 World Cup, prompting five cricket boards to formally approach the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Sources said that several players holding Pakistani passports, who are part of different teams participating in the T20 World Cup, are facing hurdles in obtaining Indian visas. The issue has created uncertainty within the affected squads.
According to reports, the cricket boards of Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have officially raised the matter with the ICC. In addition, the cricket boards of Zimbabwe and Oman have also informed the ICC about the visa complications. With these, a total of five participating boards have contacted the ICC over the issue.
Sources further revealed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has so far not provided any clear assurance to the ICC regarding the issuance of visas to Pakistani passport-holding players. This lack of clarity has caused concern and anxiety among the affected teams.
The ICC is reportedly in contact with relevant authorities and is holding consultations to find a possible resolution. However, no final progress or confirmation regarding the visa issue has yet been announced.
