DG ISPR Labels Imaan Mazari a “Subtle Operative,” Warns Against Support for Terrorists

Rawalpindi: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has termed Imaan Mazari a “subtle operative” (bareek wardatiya), stating that whenever security forces take action against terrorists, certain individuals emerge to support them under the guise of activism.
Addressing an important press conference on the security situation and other key matters, the DG ISPR said the sole purpose of the briefing was to present a comprehensive review of counter-terrorism measures taken over the past year. He emphasized that the war against terrorism is a collective struggle of the entire nation, and that there is strong harmony between the state and the public in this fight.
He said terrorism remains the biggest threat currently faced by Pakistan and urged all stakeholders to remain focused on counter-terrorism efforts. “When operations are carried out against terrorists, some so-called subtle operatives appear in their support,” he said, adding that one such individual is operating from Norway.
Referring to Imaan Mazari, the DG ISPR said she presents herself as a human rights activist but has been involved in building narratives on social media regarding terrorism-related incidents, including the case of Professor Usman Qazi. He alleged that the strings of such individuals are being pulled from abroad.
During the briefing, the DG ISPR also played a clip related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s remarks about tying dogs in mosques, calling the statement ridiculous. He said such remarks are made when there is a lack of logic and sound argument, describing them as baseless and devoid of reason.
The DG ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces will continue to take firm action against terrorists and their facilitators, stressing that the fight against terrorism is essential for the country’s stability and survival.
