Japanese Scientists Discover Frog Gut Bacteria That Eliminates Cancer in Early Trials

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** Scientists at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have discovered a special bacterium in the gut of tree frogs that can eliminate cancer without causing harmful side effects.
According to the research, the team tested 45 different bacteria from frogs and other small organisms. Nine of these bacteria showed strong anti-cancer effects, with *Ewingella americana*, found in tree frogs, proving to be the most effective.
The study revealed that a single dose of this bacterium successfully eliminated tumors in mice. Even when cancer cells were reintroduced after 30 days, no new tumors developed.
The bacterium works in two ways: it directly damages tumor cells and simultaneously strengthens the body’s immune system, enabling it to fight cancer naturally. Scientists highlighted that this bacterium thrives in low-oxygen environments, which are typical in cancerous tumors, making it particularly effective for treatment.
Initial tests suggest the bacterium is safe, as it exits the bloodstream quickly and does not harm healthy tissues. Researchers caution that further studies are needed before considering human applications.
Ongoing investigations aim to determine whether this bacterium can treat other types of cancer and how it can be combined with existing therapies. This discovery provides new hope for future cancer treatments.
