Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban for Indian Aircraft by Another Month

Karachi: Pakistan has extended the ban on the use of its airspace by Indian aircraft for an additional month.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), with the approval of the federal government, has issued a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), according to which Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed to Indian-registered aircraft until January 27, 2026.
According to the PAA, the restriction applies to all Indian-registered passenger aircraft, as well as military and private jets, which will not be allowed to transit through Pakistani airspace during this period.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan has kept its airspace closed to Indian aircraft since April 23, 2025, a move that has reportedly caused Indian airlines losses amounting to billions of rupees due to longer routes and increased operational costs.
