Imran Khan’s Sisters Stage Sit-in Outside Adiala Jail After Being Denied Meeting

Rawalpindi: The sisters of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan staged a sit-in outside **Adiala Jail** on Tuesday after police blocked their access to the prison and denied them permission to meet him.

According to police, roads leading to Adiala Jail were sealed as part of heightened security arrangements on the scheduled meeting day. Imran Khan’s sisters — **Aleema Khan, Noreen Khan and Uzma Khan** — reached the **Factory Chowk checkpoint** along with PTI workers, where police stopped them from proceeding further.

Following the police action, the sisters and PTI supporters began a sit-in at the checkpoint. Protesters said the demonstration would continue until permission is granted for a meeting with the PTI founder.

The local administration has imposed **Section 144** in areas surrounding Adiala Jail, placing the region on high security alert. Heavy police contingents have been deployed on all access routes, and **anti-riot barriers** have been installed at the Gorakhpur checkpoint. Additional police units have also been deployed, while a **water cannon** has been positioned outside **Gate No. 5** of the jail.

Sources said the Adiala Jail administration had received a list of PTI leaders a day earlier who were scheduled to meet Imran Khan. The list reportedly included **Barrister Gohar** and five other PTI leaders.

The situation remains tense as negotiations continue between the protesters and the authorities.
